 Azim Daudpota flew 15 strike and 5 Air Defence missions. He controlled and conducted his missions very ably and was always
looked up to by his subordinates. He gave precise and clear-cut instructions in the air and was responsible for wrecking many
tanks, guns, vehicles, etc, in the face of heavy enemy ground fire. His great moments came on 21st September, 1965, when his
formation destroyed many enemy medium guns at Wagha-Attari Sector. For his leadership, devotion to duty and complete disregard
for personal safety, Azim Daudpota was awarded Sitara-i-Juraat. He joined Pakistan International AIrlines as MD/Chairman
and now a days residing in Karachi.

Noted social worker and former editor of Adiyoon, Begum
Khadija Khanum Daudpota, died in Islamabad on Saturday and was buried there. She was 80. She was the wife of the late eminent
scholar Dr Umar bin Mohammad Daudpota , mother of former Air Vice Marshal and governor of Sindh Mohammad Azim Daudpota and
Dr Issa Daudpota.
Coming from a family of freedom-fighters, she was the grand-daughter of Shaikh Abdur Rahim, the
noted companion of Imamul Inqalab Maulana Ubaidullah Sindhi. Shaikh Abdur Rahim had participated in the Reshmi Roomal Tehrik,
aimed at waging a struggle against the alien English rule. His contribution to the cause of freedom is commendable.
